Sanctuary Memorial Garden

Gravestone for a pet in a memorial garden with engraved tribute and desert imagery.

Before I start my week, I was going to share the events of last week, but it was so much, it feels too daunting to go through it all. So instead, I think I would just like to share Lakey's beautiful offering.

When I asked if anyone had extra fencing materials laying around Lakey responded, "I have nothing you need but I have from a tree that died and had to cut down a lot of great branches that could be used for something interesting. Just throwing it out there".

This gesture is no small thing.

Just the day before, I heard back from the Comfort Company who will be donating a small stone marker for the entrance of the Memorial Garden to commemorate all of the pets that have blessed our lives since beginning this mission.

So I replied back to Lakey, "Hi Lakey, thank you so much. I am working out a concept for a memorial garden to honor all of the pets we have been honored to serve. I will be needing many materials for memorial markers. I am sure I can make use of much of that wood from your tree. That would be a wonderful contribution."

The week before, Teri, another neighbor, offered to help with her landscaping design skills, since she did such a beautiful job on her own garden. There is something very special going on here. Everyone I am meant to help comes forward, everyone who is meant to help the mission comes forward.

I feel like a real community is being created here, not a community based on location but of Purpose. And God is making everything beautiful in its time.
